Our members play a critical role in helping IVCLA’s efforts to affect world understanding.

As a Citizen Diplomat you have the opportunity to host emerging international leaders in your home or restaurant for dinner and engage in the cultural and intellectual exchange of ideas and beliefs. International Visitors often say the home hospitality experiences provided by our members are the favorite and most memorable part of their program. Occasionally, members also have the opportunity to take visitors sightseeing.

As a member, you receive the following benefits:

  • Invitations to social and cultural events designed to provide an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and experiences with our international visitors and other IVCLA Citizen Diplomats.
  • The opportunity to invite emerging international leaders into your home and develp friendships and professional contacts around the world.
  • A chance to broaden your knowledge of international affairs.
  • An opportunity to promote the Los Angeles region as a center of economic and cultural significance.

IVCLA is fortunate to have committed, long-time members, who are not only willing to dedicate their time and energy to our international visitors, but also volunteer their time with IVCLA.

Dick DommesSandra Kohn is our volunteer Home Hospitality Coordinator. Sandra volunteers in the IVCLA office on a weekly basis, calling members and making arrangements for home hospitality.
